Project Spotlight: North Texas

Project Overview:

Since 1924, this regional water district in North Texas has provided quality water to more than 2.1 million people, implemented vital flood control measures, and created recreational opportunities for 11 North Texas Counties residents. They are led by a publicly elected five-member board and owns/operates four major reservoirs, including Lake Bridgeport, Eagle Mountain Lake, Cedar Creek Lake, and Richland-Chambers Lake, and also constructed more than 150 miles of water pipelines, 27 miles of floodway levees, more than 100 miles of Trinity River Trails, and a 2,000-acre wetland water reuse project designed to increase future water supplies for the area.

The Solution:

  • Model 3500
  • Main Pump Control Ball Valve 36”
  • Bypass Valve Ball 20”
  • Service Fail-Safe

The Result:

Fail-safe with an extended closing time for pumping stations. Water hammer is a significant concern for these stations, so Trident created a 15-minute (up to 30 minutes) closing time to remove any water hammer concerns. The actuators protect the pump and other equipment pumping fresh water over 100 miles to cities.
