The Challenge:
Ensuring the critical operation of the gates and valves for the main sewage flows from being discharged into the Hudson River unless under emergency circumstances then the critical operation of the actuator working with the valve and gate needs to be optimized.
The Solution:
- Model 3500
- 48” 150 Lb Cone Valve
- Service Pump Control Valve
The Result:
- Long-term operation of a critical application (since 2009), still operating today
- A new main sewage pump station was installed at North River WPCP in 2012
- There was a flood from Hurricane Sandy and the actuators were running underwater for about 1 week
- This showed the submersible capability of Trident Actuators
