We’re looking for a Hydraulic Systems Engineer who has excellent organizational skills and a personable disposition to keep us thriving. This position will play a key role in designing and developing systems that integrate available technologies involving electro-hydraulic products, PLCs, and motion controllers. You will be responsible for communicating with potential clients on their needs and designing the hydraulic components to provide high-quality solutions. 

This is a hybrid position that will report directly to the Director of Engineering and will be based out of our Holmes, PA facility.

Salary range for this position is $80,000-$90,000 plus potential bonuses, commensurate with experience. Trident offers medical benefits (health, prescription, dental, and vision insurance), a 401k program, and a flexible time-off policy for all employees.

Responsibilities

● Create hydraulic schematics and bills of material in cooperation with members of the engineering team to design custom electro-hydraulic actuators.

● Contribute to discussions on improving and advancing our technological capabilities.

● Communicate with engineers and customers regarding specifications, submittals, and design requirements of our actuators.

● Responsible for hydraulic component selection.

● Provide technical assistance and responses to customers concerning hydraulic troubleshooting.

● Assist in initial and final testing of actuators prior to shipment to customers.

● Assist and collaborate with field technicians maintaining our equipment.

● Ensure customer satisfaction through professional and efficient service.

● Embrace and apply Trident’s quality management system.

● Work safely in accordance with company processes.

Qualifications

● Detailed familiarity with hydraulic components and schematic drawings.

● Experience with electro-hydraulic systems.

● Comfortable reading and interpreting mechanical drawings.

● Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic equipment.

● Experience in a manufacturing environment.

● Extreme attention to detail and superior organizational skills.

● Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team to resolve issues.

● Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

● Availability to travel to customer sites when necessary.

● Minimum 4 years of experience working with hydraulic/electro-hydraulic products.

● Experience with software applications related to designing and programming electrical and mechanical systems.

● Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or a related field. Substantial work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred

● Prior experience working with hydraulically controlled actuators, mechanisms, valves, manifolds, piping, and sensors.

Work Environment

● Standard weekly job hours: 40 hours.

● Office: Standard office equipment; work usually performed in an office setting free from any disagreeable elements.

● When necessary, the position will include on-site work that will require following customer safety guidelines.

● Safely function in an industrial setting where manufacturing conditions exist.

● Required to use the company designated personal protective equipment and adhere to Trident’s safety program.
